Bio
Kelsey Rainville, B.A., B.S.
Kelsey Rainville (BA, BS) is a professional dancer, choreographer, emcee and dance educator originally from Boston, Massachusetts. She is a recent graduate of The University of Tampa with a B.A. in Dance; pedagogically focused, in addition to a B.S in Marketing. Kelsey has created a number of choreographic works with the University of Tampa Dance Program, The Boston Community Dance Project, Cypress Creek Conservatory of Dance Arts, and St. Bernard’s High School Cheer & Dance Club. Additionally, she has had the opportunity to premier a work before the Florida Dance Education Organization’s Day of Development conference. Kelsey is currently performing with Busch Gardens Tampa Bay, Howl-O-Scream at Busch Gardens Tampa Bay, Universal Studios Orlando, and Odd-O-T’s Entertainment in Creatures of the Night. In addition to her time spent on the stage, she has worked behind the scenes as well, having toured with Turn It Up Dance Challenge for two seasons as a backstage director. Growing up, she trained as an apprentice and then company member with the Boston Community Dance Project under the direction of SkooJ Core-O, performing at Choreographer’s Carnival, OpenHouse by BrickHouse NYC, a National Dance Day collaboration with the Dizzy Feet Foundation, and was featured in a number of concept video performances and an advertisement for the dance competition: Dancin’ In The Streets. She has studied dance with a number of Boston and New York City-based artists, in addition to Susannah LeMarquand, Alexander Jones and Michael Crotty at the University of Tampa. As someone who has developed skillsets in the varied disciplines of business and the arts, Kelsey holds a unique perspective that informs her day-to-day life, as well as her choreographic and teaching processes. She has found a love for creating movement, and applies tools from a Brain Compatible Teaching Methodology toward works that leave a lasting impact.
B.A. Dance
In May 2022, Kelsey graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Dance, pedagogically focused, from the University of Tampa. This curriculum featured training in Brain Compatible Dance Education, a model that focuses on the development of technical training as well as personal artistry and autonomy.
